Life Update

So I had these wonderful thoughts of posting a blog post everyday and it would be fantastic and because I posted daily I would have actual visitors and people would comment and I would be the life of the party and poof magically I could one day quit my job and retire and be a blogger for life.

Needless to say I managed to post a blog post everyday for 2 months SUCCESS then the real world kicked my ass and my job became more demanding and there were books I wanted to read but I didn't like and the library had these things called deadlines and BTS announced a comeback and then I opened a fan based blog so I could nerd out about them without boring you about them and then fanfic world exploded with new BTS fan fic and then I was given 2 new MAJOR projects at work and then consumers passed and then mercury went into FUCKING retrograde and I quit I just absolutely quit.

So that's it that's the whole I disappeared from life summary in a nutshell and what happened with this blog. I seriously just ran out of topics and interest and I just gave up. Not the blog per say but I just stopped everything I came home from work and just sat on my sofa and just quit. So I sincerely hope everyone who is reading this (hi mom) is doing okay and hopefully I can get back in the swing of things now that it is March and lord willing and creak don't rise spring!

SUPER BOWL BABY

This is the first time in 50 years that the KANSAS CITY CHIEFS have been in the super bowl. And can I just say this town is going nuts. WE are so excited!!!!

So excited in fact that this girl who doesn't even like sports has plans for the Super Bowl to watch and relax via no books! Also I bought like 3 Chiefs shirts that's how serious this is... I mean goodness what am I suppose to do with them after this?

So help me wish the KC Chiefs to victory!

Sunday Rambles

So I have managed to stay on schedule all week and I'm super duper proud of myself. I am also able to post things in advance which is UBER helpful as I am usually behind on a lot of things. The sad part of all of this is now I am trying to shuffle around things to figure out where should things go and when I do this what happens here and should I announce this. As my current reading list is different as I am about 2 weeks out so things are moving faster now. I am also sure life will get the better of me at some point. One thing coming up soon is I am planning a trip to either Morocco or Egypt for next year so I will probably be posting on that topic soon as I am getting excited about that and yet there is a lot of planning that goes into that and not just the financial crap. Also I am trying to get my rental house up to snuff and right now I am having a major spider issue which is frustrating as all get out so trying to figure out that.

Also I am starting Keto which is a specialized diet and I am sure that will come into play when I start figure out things so knowing me I will have to post crap about that on here because why not I will have to vent to someone about it either really really working or not working at all and having to adjust to that. And as I mentioned last week I am taking a new position at work and trying not to get overly stressed about that which sucks as I just gave up soda again for the 20th time so yeah wish me luck on that.

So I am going to wrap up my ramblings now because lawd I have apparently a lot to say I just wanted to get off my chest LOL thanks for listening per usual. Anyway I hope you are enjoying the post!

Sunday Ramblings

Whew I've been gone for a hawt minute haven't I? Lawd sorry about that... Needless to say I've been a busy busy gal. I have started a new program at work and have gotten that off the ground. I just took a new position at work so will be changing that soon. I also have been moving things personally but nothing too major other then work stuff. My computer crashed which FYI never fun so it's been trying to figure that out. Lots of stress but learning how to process stress and self-care. I  have been reading which is always a great thing especially for a reading blog LOL! I have been using the Libby app a lot which is a happy happy thing for me.

I also have been watching a lot of movies and listening to a lot of music so that's good now to take the time and catch up with writing my thoughts down for this lovely site! I also am certain I have lost a lot of followers simply because of my lack of interacting and writing which is okay but alas I just don't have the energy to try to build it back up so I am just going to keep doing this for me I think. I also think that will help me with only publishing things that I want to publish instead of feeling obligated to publish everything that I read. So I also think that will help me.

So I am really hoping that I can keep this up better now without the pressure of before. So longer story short I am back for awhile!

Sunday Ramblings #6

So what a crazy week. This week I decided it was time to move from my EXPENSIVE apartment to a cheaper more affordable place. Which then means I have to downsize which has been a good decision since I have been doing the Kondo Marie method of what brings me joy. Sadly too many things for my new "smaller" space so I will have to downsize even further. The worse part of all of this is I don't know if I have the place until later this week and I ABSOLUTELY hate the waiting game. Once I find out however, it will move so fast I won't know what to do with myself >_< which is also scary cause I also hate the packing and moving game. Because of this I have also come to realize that I am a planner which is also a little terrifying when you think of it because when you are in the waiting stage there is no planning that you can do other then down sizing or doing the well I guess I could pack this but... game

Otherwise this week has been nothing more then that. I haven't read or done anything as I have been looking at rental houses and going through boxes. I did manage to pick up a punching bag to start working out but as I may or may not move I am not going to unpack it from the box for fear that it will just have to be packed again and that thing is heavy. So alas even that has been put on hold. There is a massive pause button on my life right now and sadly that is just uncomfortable :/

Anything new with you guys? How do you handle the hold and pause situations of life?

Monday Musings

So life has been odd around here and I didn't get a chance to do Sunday Ramblings so I thought I would throw in a Monday Musing as I just finished a book and need some process time and have nothing else to post until the blog tour happening on Wednesday.

last week was crazy busy. I went out of town for a work training to return to me conducting training at work and catching up on projects and then poof magically I had a day off on Friday so what did I do? I wasted it in bed, with TV and do basically nothing. So that by Saturday I was running like crazy to clean and organizing somethings (I'm still doing the does it bring you joy book) progress is still undecided. I made a lot of phone calls on Friday so I feel like I at least accomplished a lot in that direction and yet it feels like nothing got done. The thing about phone calls is, if no one calls you back you really don't resolve anything do you?

I think worked on other projects around here and mom came over for dinner only to discover our neighbors dog escaped again (don't ask we live in an apartment that is locked) it was injured and the neighbor didn't answer the door. So I kept the little bugger which in fact made my 98 lbs bugger go ape crap so Ma had to take my baby home. Needless to say by 7am after a night of continuous whimpering and whiny I called animal control since we have a no kill shelter. Hopefully the guy will take better care of her or she will find a better home.

It did remind me tho of this little angel and when she did the same thing over and over and over. So glad we are pass that stage and she is a mature adult... at times. Needless to say we are a one dog house apparently.

I did finish 2 books this last week YEAH ME!!! So I will be reviewing them at some point.

Otherwise that is all that is new with me. What's new in your world? Anything I should know or be aware of?

Sunday Ramblings #3

Whew what a week!

I start a new shift next week 4 10 hour days so that I have 3 days off with the hope eventually it will be Friday. For 2 reasons #MamaG is going to have surgery and will need extra help and I need a weekend. In the meantime I need a part time job and this will help me to pick up a weekend shift on a hospital.

I am not looking forward to getting up at 5:30 instead of 6:30 but alas I am looking forward to having a 3 day weekend ever week until I pick up that 2nd job to pay off some bills. :/

I started a new project the #KonMari Method it's about tidying and decluttering your home. Finding what brings you joy in your home and then getting rid of everything that doesn't. So far I have 2 car loads of things that don't bring me joy. Sadly that does include a lot of my books *sob* but it has a point sometimes we carry around with us a lot of TBR books for YEARS mind you with the intend I am going to read this only realize that they a)don't bring us joy anymore only dread as we look at them and keep passing them over and b)regret at the money we spent, time we take to wish away I am going to read someday, joy we steal from others, and shame & guilt of one day I will read that.

Now that I am done with books I need to organize them and get them off the floor. Next is clothes, then I will tackle my bathroom (yikes) then kitchen (double yikes) and office (HELP) eventually I want to have everything have a place. My last thing is sentimental items and vinyl collection cause I feel like that will be the hardest for me to part with. Part of this is spurred on by hopefully moving into a one bedroom apartment here soon. So downgrading is needing to happen rather soon. Have any of you ever done it?

Also this week I started
I am really excited to try this food product. I have 3 meals that I am going to cook for the week that should get me through until payday. Fancy grill cheese, a steak meal and chicken thighs. All three are items I am comfortable cooking but would never have picked out at a store to make at home so I am excited to try something new when I get home from my 10 hour shifts :)

That's about all new around here. How about you guys anything new in your worlds? Have you tried Hello Fresh or KondiMari methods? Any tips or tricks I should know about?

Sunday Ramblings #2

Lawd it's Sunday already which means Monday tomorrow

But alas I shan't worry about that until the alarm goes off tomorrow morning... I did discover this last week that being sick is not necessarily a good thing especially when they want you to work from home so there's that. I did manage to stay a float to a point.

Taxes taxes and taxes they suck the big one. I am going to end up paying the government again. I am getting really sick of that. I am a single woman who works and I always end up paying the government back every FRACKING year and it sucks every time.

I'm trying a new app to help me save for both taxes, to pay off a credit card (s) if I am honest and a trip to NY if I can swing all that I will be a very happy girl. I love NY and went last year in April, but I am hoping to go this year in July so fingers crossed I can swing it.

I am finally getting my promised meatloaf and potatoes my mom said she would make me last week but between me being sick and her being sick there wasn't a time for it but now... oh yeah that's happening. I just have to catch up some tax stuff to cry more, clean a little and poof I get dinner.
Speaking of dinner is anyone else doing Hello Fresh? I thought I would give it a try for a month and see if it helped with my portion control and well eating some healthy veggies and well help me to cook something outside the box. Right now I make like 5 meals and I thought well it might be worth trying to do something a little different. I know a friend who tried it in Atlanta but wasn't sure if anyone else had.

Nothing else is really new here! How about you guys? Any new news in your life?

SUNDAY Ramblings

Hello!!!

Do any of you out there ever look at your blog and go HOLY CRAP I haven't got anything planned for next week and OMG I let it really go since Thursday... YIKES and then spend the lovely day of SUNDAY doing a massive planning and catch up session instead of using Sunday to blog hop and visit other lovely blogs?

Or am I the only one that does this?

Seriously I can't be the only one? I mean I will later go around and blog hop and catch up on a week's worth of blogging but lawd Sunday mornings get me all worked up in a frenzy. jeez...

Moving on.

So this week has been crazy I had numerous trainings at work and finally had Friday to attempt to catch up on real work only to have that frittered away. So yesterday instead of cleaning I spent the WHOLE day watching Modern Family season 1... yep
So as soon as I am caught up on the week here I will have to clean my lovely house and find my stuff for work. Lunch plan and breakfast plan cause we don't get paid until Friday.
Budget for payday
Then I can finally relax to make next week go like CRAZY again...

Yet I don't seem to find a way to change anything during the week... CRAZY

As far as reading I am knee deep in a a few books but managed to finish one so I uber excited about it and will keep working on the others (biographies take a while for me)

How about you guys how was your week?

I finished a book y'all and much more!

Man it's been awhile sort of since I've updated y'all on my life and seeing how we are getting close to the end of the month (Can you freaking believe it's almost May?!?!) I thought I'd do a quick little update just to, you know, let you know I'm still alive and kicking.

So as the title suggested I finished a book! Shocking I know! Review should be up tomorrow pending all goes well.

I've started 2 new ones and pending all goes well should finish by the end of the weekish or beginning of next week!

Still managing to do the Favorites weekly which is rocking hopefully a little longer each episode. The ideal is to eventually get to 30 minutes a podcast, but to be quite honest that's a long time for a gal to talk by herself so if anyone is interested in helping a girl out I'd appreciate it.

I have a movie review to post that will probably go up on Saturday cause I'm running behind per usual...

I am going to stick with keeping up with my Tuesday Smoozedays and my WWW cause hey those are no brainers and well just fun to do along with Friday Favorites.

Otherwise that's about all with me at this moment.

Anything new, interesting, or rather boring happening in your life? I have some vacations coming up so I'm excited about that May is going to be a little bit busy but hey we do what we can do and we just keep on keeping on.

Season Finale's Hate 'em or Love 'em?!

I know, I know, I was going to do this whole post about Pretty Little Liars season finale and how much I disliked it and how awful it was. Then it hit me... how many season finales do I actually enjoy? Recently I have been doing a Netflix kick to help this poor case manager disappear in life away from work. I start on a show I like or am interested in and push through until it's done. Thus far this month (and by month I mean March/April) I have finished (not necessarily started):

1. Broadchurch
2.  Parenthood **EDITED opinion***
3. Switched at Birth (current season)
4.  Pretty Little Liars (current season)
5. Gilmore Girls (I had never seen all episodes)

Of those 5 I was blown away by 1, okay with the other (can't wait until next season to see how they wrap it up but if they don't get renewed I will no longer be a fan of that finale), and to be quite frank disliked the 3 remaining finales.

Let's start with the clear winner...

Seriously this show completely blew my mind. Yes I am only on season 1 (blame netflix not me people) but for 8 hours I was hooked on this show. I kept guessing then changing my mind then guessing again and then the season finale hit and I was like

that was just WRONG holy crap on a cracker I didn't expect that ending. What a freaking twist and then a jerk and a nod and a HOLY no gasp. Seriously I may not even watch season 2 or 3 because really I didn't need to. They wrapped up this season so well that I am happy with the ending and refuse to be angry later at a different one.

I also managed to finish Parenthood (or what I thought was ending turns out there is another season that is not on Netflix so I am not completely done with that show and I am happy about it) If this had been the ending I would have been beyond pissed at this show

Over 5 seasons of binge watching I came to expect certain things. If you have not caught up to the end of season 5 then spoilers ahead and you have been warned

1. I expected that Crosby and Jasmine would end up back in their own home happy and healthy with no major issues: CHECK
2. I expected that Adam and Christine would finally have a HEA (Happy Ever After) with no more major complications: CHECK
3. I expected to know more about the school Adam was opening with Christine: NOT CHECK
4. I expected Zeke and Milly to not move and stay where they were or at least sell the house to someone in the family: NOPE
5. I expected Joel and Julia to end up back together: BIG FAT STINKING NO so pissed
6. I expected that we would find out if Amber was pregnant: NOPE just a hint that she might be with Ryan's baby and let's be honest not a happy camper about that romance.
7. I expected that Sarah and Hank would have a HEA: sort of but not a lot of closure for me want to know more

There are more things that I am not happy about. The way they ended season 5 ticked me off and made me feel like I was let down. Thankfully there is a season 6 so hopefully that will rectify some of my complaints.

Then came Switched at Birth

Please for the love of God ABC family you have to renew this show. That can not be how this show goes out and ends us. I LOVE THIS SHOW seriously hands down a favorite of mine and hell might be a favorite of the week soon. This show has all the elements that make a great family drama great. Add in the issues of one of the children being switched at birth and is deaf and you took it to a whole other level. Then there's

My freaking OTP (one true pairing) I mean come on I've been rooting for these two for so stinking long you wold think they were my children.

And you freaking BREAK THEM UP!!!! And that's it. I get nothing else and no promise that this series will continue?!?! OMG seriously ABC Family what kind of crap are you trying to pull?

UGH

Moving on to Pretty Little Liars

NO JUST NO
I am so pissed at this ending. I was promised A I was told that I would know who A was at the end of this show and all I know is A is a man and his name is Charles W... T... H... F (what the holy f*ck) kind of game are you playing with me.
This was your attempt to keep me guessing and wondering who this Charles was so that I would turn in for season 6. NO I am done. I refuse this was so stupid. You promised me answers and all you did was lie to me about who A is. So PLL I am done for now. Maybe one day when the stinking show is done (supposedly you have 2 more seasons) I will flip on netflix and see where you ended up but I refuse to sit week by week to find the answers that you promise and never give. Not to mention that it doesn't even add up. So no I am done with freaking A

As if PLL wasn't a horrible enough ending I then decided I should catch up on Gilmore Girls since I never saw the last season.

And there is not a moment that goes by that I don't wish I had just let it be. Just walked away and said I don't need to ruin what a perfect show I had in my head. I should have stopped at season 6 and just said that's good I'm okay or better yet maybe even season 5. Continuing on was a mistake and one I am having a hard time living with. Seriously you did not have Rory break up with Logan and not even sure that her mom and Luke are together for a HEA and why did we have to have an April and oh good god what did you do to my favorite characters?!?! And I just can't... I can't even... I am just so... so... so distressed right now over this ending.

I just ARGH!!!!

So that leads me back to the original question in the title. Do you love finale's or hate them? What's been your favorite either series ender or season ender that you just adore? Which ones do you absolutely hate? Have you ever watched an entire show (5 season or 7 or whatever number) to reach the end and go

How did you survive?

Anyway 34 things I would like to do while 34 are...

INTELLECTUAL
1. Complete the 52 books in 52 weeks challenge (I really miss reading and now that I am no longer a student it would be nice to get back to it)

20. I would like to continue my week of no soda and in my 34th year I would like to completely break the addiction to soda. Basically I need to drink more water and my goal this year is to do just that.

21. With all that I would like to add in 3 days of some type of exercise or movement. I do not exercise currently and with my lifestyle and diet I am not a 100% at my best.
