My Favorite Things - Essential Oils Lavender

So I have started something new called aromatherapy and I have to say I am really getting into essential oils, rubs, and aromatherapy in my bedroom and office. I am so happy to have stumbled across this. I have an oil I swear for anything at this point and if I don't I am going to order it next month :)

Everyone has a favorite oil or an oil that really got them into it. I have a few but the one oil that I tend to go back to or at least use the most of at this time is Lavender. I use this for cuts, scraps, burns, my face cream, oils for scars, I have it in a bottle for stress, a bottle for sleep, I use it for relaxation, I also have it in a bug bit bottle. Lavender is by far the most well rounded and easily mixed oil for anything including scents for blends, aroma and bottles. It is a sweet smell, it doesn't burn and it is gentle. I even go so far as to mix it with a carrier and put on my animals when needed (like when they are being too hyper). I have been known to mix this with some panAway, Copaiba, Frankincense and make a nice relaxation ball for working out (which is another new thing  have been doing). Needless to say if I had to give up all the oils I would if and only if I could keep Lavender.

Do you use oils? What one do you like or what oil got you hooked?

My Favorite Things Week 21 Episode 35

Wow folks so sorry it's been 3 solid weeks since I've been gone now and I apologize for missing so much but life happens sometimes and in that 3 weeks I have had a friend from Chicago come down for quick visit (1 week) stopped my job, started a new job, MY ROYALS won our division and yours truly went to some post games and well in between all that worked the old job and new job. So yeah things went a bit wibbly wobbly

So my bad hopefully this will be the last time that something major happens like that... *knock on wood* any who we are back to week 21 episode 35 so YEAH!!!

This week in NERD news...
For the second year in a row the Kansas City Royals have won the AL Central Division and well we are flying high. Right now (when I am writing and recording this) we are in the playoffs for the world series and playing against the Toronto Bluejays. Yours truly went to game 2 of the playoffs and watched us win (we are officially known as the comeback kids b/c it didn't look like were were going to win until the bottom of the 7th and finally we managed to get 6 runs in). Needless to say  it was a nail biter

Thankfully the game was on a Saturday night b/c it literally took 52 minutes to get out of the parking situation at the K and then another 45 to get back home. Yes I am that dedicated to my Royals! Also it was a hell of a game and a rare opportunity to go so I was super duper psyched to be invited!

So fingers crossed we will keep this winning streak alive and get into the world series again. This time taking the crown! #ForeverRoyal #LetsgoRoyals

PERSONAL
On a personal note as you saw above the last 3 weeks have been crazy. I was hired at a new job that just started last week so been in training. Stopped my other job and had a massive amount of things to do to close that out on a good happy note. Had a wonderful friend/sis come and visit from Chicago which gave me a chance to show off my fantastic city and she got to experience some awesomeness known as KC (more details in a minute) through all that I have been house shopping, packing up, and cleaning the old house so LOTS going on in this household!

Some things we found in KC that Momma G and Court got to do were:
Negro Baseball muesum
Jazz Muesum
Kansas City Power and Light district
Nelson Art Gallery
Plaza
Crown Center
Louisberg's Cider Fest
and of course our famous food we took her to places like:
Jack Stack
Flying Saucer (beer place)
Strouts Chicken
Bo Lings

Next time we will for sure hit up KC Masterpiece and Oklahoma Joes (now KC Joes) also we will visit the Green Lady if it kills me (she will get the inside joke) and one day I will share it with the rest of you  >_<

TV SHOWS/MOVIES
more X-Files I am actually up to season 4 which is just bananas yo

Favorite episodes of Season 2
Episode 3 "Blood" was a good one - Prompted by messages from digital appliances with instructions to kill, several residents of a small farming community suddenly turn violent and dangerous. It was about hidden messages in commercials and other things we watch. I have to admit it took me a minute to remember that this was pre 2015 and that we really thought this and it is probably true. It was an episode that made you think. It also had people committing random acts of terror and how does the FBI and local police handle it. Including the final scene of a man in a bell tower sniping people.

Episode 5 & 6 were very important to the mythology of this show from what I can tell the episodes were called "Duane Berry" and "Ascension" basically in "Duane Berry" is an ex-FBI agent escapes from a mental hospital and holds several people hostage in a travel agency. Mulder and Krycek (new partner since the Xfiles have been broken up and Scully is no longer working with Mulder) are sent in to help with the negotiations since the man claims to have been a UFO abductee. In "Ascension" it is a continuation of the first one, Mulder races to Scully's house after listening to the recording of her attack on his answering machine. Duane Barry has kidnapped Scully, determined to offer her to the aliens in his place. Mulder goes to great lengths to attempt to locate Scully. In this episode Scully is kidnapped by aliens is what we are led to believe.
So it was a very interesting and intense episode especially watching Mulder try to find and locate Scully and figure what the heck is happening. Episode 8 "One Breathe" has Scully returning mysteriously and Mulder going on the warpath also a good one.

Episode 20 "Humbug" was a different one for me but I can see how people really liked it. It actually took me 2 watching to be like okay it's okay. It's about Mulder and Scully must find the paranormal among the abnormal when they are sent to investigate a long standing series of ritualistic killings which match no known patterns. The latest of which was the death of the "Alligator Man", just one of many sideshow acts around which the town of Gibsonton, Florida, is built.

and of course Episode 24 (Season finale) was fantastic "Anasazi" The trust that Mulder and Scully have is sorely tested when Mulder begins acting strangely. His aberrant behavior is compounded when the Lone Gunmen direct him to a hacker who managed to break into some very closely guarded files. The files are encrypted in Navajo and need to be decoded by a former Navajo code talker.

Favorite episodes of Season 3
Which then leads us to Episode 1 of season 3 b/c "The Blessing Way" which is the continuation of the "Anasazi" from Season 2. The Cigarette Smoking Man works quickly to recover the stolen computer files, but finds himself thwarted by a man who he hoped was dead. Meanwhile, Scully finds herself at a loss for her next step and turns to her family for support, since Mulder is otherwise engaged fighting for survival.

Episode 4 "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose" was actually really sad, touching, and at the same time funny if that makes sense. Skeptical of a famous psychic's predictions regarding the murder of several prognosticators, Mulder instead finds someone who he believes truly can predict the future. Catching the killer could prove difficult, though, particularly if the murderer can also see into his future.

Episodes 9 & 10 tie into Episodes 5 & 6 of Season 2 "Nisei" and "731" start off innocent enough and yet lead us to a group of women who know Scully from her "abduction" Nisei - A mail order videotape of an alien autopsy blossoms into a much more complicated investigation when Mulder and Scully find the distributor of the tape murdered in his own home apparently by a high-ranking Japanese diplomat. While Mulder's search for the video leads him to a train car, Scully investigates a Mutual UFO Network group and discovers several women who claim to know her. "731" - Mulder is trapped on a train carriage that could be wired with a bomb, according to a killer who claims to be an NSA agent. Meanwhile, Scully digs deeper into the mystery surrounding her abduction.

Episode 20 "Jose Chung's From Outer Space" is a little different and takes a minute to get into the flow of things. It's about an author writing a story and his version of how things are going. When a couple claims to have been abducted by aliens, Agents Mulder and Scully try to get at the truth but everyone has a different version of the story, including the "aliens" themselves.

Episode 22 "Quagmire" is actually a cute, semi-scary funny one that shows some bonding between Scully and Mulder and her poor puppy. When a series of mysterious deaths and disappearances are reported near a lake in a small town, Agents Mulder and Scully are called in to investigate. With local folklore of a killer sea serpent running rampant amongst the locals, the agents must take their search for the truth to the water.

Favorite episodes of Season 4
I have only just started this season so I have only managed to watch 22 which means I am almost done LOL so far my favorites have been:
Episode: 7 "Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man" Mulder, Scully and Byers meet with Frohike, where he details what may have been Cigarette Smoking Man's real life. This sadly only made me feel sorry for the man and I actually didn't want to but my goodness this was a rough one to watch.

Episode 10 "Paper hearts" was a very good one and showed us a life before the Xfiles that Mulder dealt with and also that he is human and scared about his sister. Agent Mulder is haunted by an old case in which young girls were killed and hearts cut from their nightgowns. Soon Mulder becomes suspicious when the killer taunts him with the idea that one of his victims may have been Samantha.

Episode 12 "Leonard Betts" wasn't a favorite but it is important for the story line and mythology of Scully and the Xfiles The disappearance of a man's body from a hospital morgue leads Mulder and Scully to investigate the strange circumstances surrounding the man's death. However, for Scully it will lead to a horrifying revelation.

Episode 20 "Small Potatoes" was actually kind of funny A small town is "blessed" by babies being born with tails. Mulder and Scully arrive only to encounter a suspect who proves nearly impossible to identify.

Also been reviewing a few fall TV shows such as Minority Report which you can catch up on here
and Scream Queens here

MOVIES

So this last week I was fortunate enough thanks to phantom events to see Benedict Cumberbatch live in Hamlet in movie theaters here in the US... Needless to say there are not enough words in the human language to describe to you  how fantastic of a production this one. I really enjoyed it and highly suggest that anyone who has the opportunity to see it should. Benedict and the whole entire crew did a fantastic job of this rendition and it is by far one of my favorite versions of the play. Definitely worth seeing in the theater if you can if not the moment it hits DVD pick it up!

MUSIC
This week I chose: Immune by Groenland (also I picked the lyrics b/c I think that its important to understand what the song is saying verses the beat this time)

The next song I picked is...
Stare into the Light by Dear Frederic (I learned of this song from the show Kill joys which is an awesome show and got renewed. Also I love learning about new songs and bands from show I heart)

Here's the clip from the show where the song was featured. No spoilers per say...

Okay enough of that moving on...

BOOKS
This week's favorite book is:
TITLE: The Fault In Our Stars
AUTHOR: John Green
RELEASE: 1/2012
SUMMARY:
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten.

THOUGHTS:
curse you for writing such an emotional book that I had to stay up till 3am to read. crying my eyes out the entire damn time UGH
needless to say full review later once I collect myself
Wow I have no idea where I should begin with this story. Holy cow and crap my gosh it is an emotional roller coaster. That one will have to finish in one setting so starting it at 10pm before bed is a really, really bad idea b/c you have to finish it. I also understand how a lot of adults can’t handle this book b/c they believe the teens are wise beyond their years. And I get that. I think what wrapped me up and wouldn’t let me go was the way the characters accepted death. Adult or child some people are just those people who can accept that nothing is going to change and be okay with it.
Others can’t handle it. While reading this book I found that I was crying during it and yet forgetting that these were teens. Would it have made it sadder yes but to be honest it was sad enough without having to remember that they were only teenagers. What hooked me was the depth of the characters to think this wisely during a time of mourning and death.
It is hard to image that someone so young can be so wise but then again if you had nothing to do all day but watch Top Model and sleep and contemplate your death don’t you think you would pick up a book or attempt to sharpen your mind? Then again I don’t doubt that it might be too much to ask of a teenager.
I did want to have more angst (if that is even possible) more this isn’t fair life sucks. But then again Hazel’s had this for a while folks so she might have already done the sucks life isn’t fair and I’m done crap.
Needless to say I have learned during my numerous years of reading to just sit back and enjoy the book. Not to over analysis it or look too deeply. This book is beautifully written about 2 people who have all the odds stacked against them and how they deal with an unfair draw. They didn’t roll over and die they fought in the way they knew how to best. It may work for you or it might be an eye roll book for you. All I know is that when I read this book it worked for me at that moment in time who’s to say in a week it would be the same.

ACTOR/ACTRESS
This week we are going to get a 2-fer b/c I have watched so much freaking X-files so this week you get both
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as your favorite Actor and Actress of the week! Mainly b/c I have grown to LOVE me some Mulder and Scully Enjoy!!!

My Favorite Things ~ Week 20 Episode 34

Well hello everyone we are back for Week 20 Episode 34 of My Favorite Things and lookie lookie whose on time for the first time in a while. This girl right here and the crowd goes wild (well the imaginary crowd that I am talking to whist I do this podcast at least). Yeah team Sara whoot whoot so while riding on that high let's move forward shall we...

NERD NEWS
Podcasting which is what we do here right? Sort of but I love me some podcast so I have gotten into a bad habit of listening to other podcast to

Out of the Blue
The Nerd Machine: Picking Favorites
ONCE - unofficial podcast for Once Upon A Time
Drunken Dork Podcast
Bakerstreet Babes - Their podcasts cover everything from decades-old fandom discussions to Sherlock TV fan events, and have developed a dedicated following of their own. They've even published a book: The One Fixed Point In A Changing Age: Essays on Sherlockiana By Online Fandom.
X-Plain the X-Men - Longtime comic book fans Rachel and Miles discuss the delightfully convoluted history of the X-Men, in a way that is equally interesting for experts and total newbies alike.
Nerdist Podcast - This is the biggest podcast on the list, attracting celebrities like Joss Whedon, Benedict Cumberbatch, Gillian Anderson, and William Shatner, along with well-known screenwriters, comedians, and comic book creators. The format is like a casual talk show hosted by the Nerdist's Chris Hardwick, and episodes can often be more than an hour long.
Cosmic Potato Network

These are the weekly ones I listen to if they put out weekly sometimes I binge and catch up over the weekend.

There are other nerdy sights I go to find out if I want to watch a movie or read a comic book or book in general and they are related to the sights above like:
Wayward Nerd
Nerdist
The Nerd Machine
Book Smugglers
Nerd Bastard
Geek and Sundry
Comic Book -  Comic Booked is right up there with the best of them. Don’t be fooled by the name – they’re not just comic book readers but podcasters, gamers and massive toy fans too
The Mary Sue -  The Mary Sue can be absolutely hilarious.  It’s essentially a site with tonnes of really cool, funny, intelligent writers

Awesome sites that are full of wonderful news, updates, fun gaming, thoughts, insights, and reviews. This is where this girl goes weekly sometimes daily and for sure monthly just to check in to feel nerdy and up to date for when I need to feel in the know. So I go to the above sights instantly to get the must know nerd news instantly. To catch up and just sound smart for the week.

PERSONAL FUN STUFF
I don't usually push a lot of beauty products on here b/c one I don't do a lot of beauty products *coughbullshitcough* but I found Sally Hensen's Miracle Gel polish and I swear my life has changed. Can I get an Hallelujah

First off I never ever ever do my nails... until now. EVER freaking pay check I am getting a different color. I am doing an ACCENT nail y'all what the what?

So I managed this last week to go nuts and buy 4 colors... I know What the what Walter makes no sense but why not I say so

So there you have it... Yes I may be going a little crazy with this crazy but you don't need a light to have them dry and they have been lasting longer than a week I just want to change colors faster than the week last if that makes sense and those of you out there that do your nails you know it does. Now the color combos I like I make sure to keep on for 2 weeks. Like the other day I did the grey for all but my accent colors and did the teal for my accent it was so cute. I also have a nude, gold and black. I did the nude and gold (gold accent) and it was super cute
These are not my nails but this is what I did and it was awesome! I loved it and got loads of compliments on it. So if you want to do your nails but hate that they chip in like a week this solved my problem.

TV SHOWS/MOVIES
I am working my way through Xfiles (the truth is out there)
I am a little late to the game I grant you like 20 years or so LOL but I am still doing it. I managed to watch all of season 1 and am now working my way through season 2
Favorite episodes of season 1
Born Again - After a detective and his former partner die in unexplained circumstances, the accidents are linked to a little girl who witnessed both deaths and Mulder believes that she may be the reincarnation of a policeman murdered by his colleagues.
Roland - Agents Mulder and Scully investigate a series of murders in Mahan Propulsion Laboratory as a team of scientists die one by one and the only suspect is a mentally handicapped cleaner named Roland.
were the 2 episodes that kept me glued to the screen and made me want to see where they were going to go and then the next thing I knew it was the end of season 1 LOL figures. I have no idea why these 2 were the ones but after watching them I was like oh this show is good. I did like Eve - When two fathers on opposite sides of the country are inexplicably murdered at exactly the same time in exactly the same way, Mulder and Scully find that their eight-year-old daughters are perfect twins (Erika and Sabrina Krievins) and were created in order to continue The Litchfield Experiment, a eugenics project of the 1950s which produced cloned boys named Adam and girls named Eve who have heightened strength and intelligence, but are prone to psychotic behavior
But for me it was a little too much and I enjoyed how Squeeze (episode 3) and Tooms (episode 21) tied into each other and how Deep Throat is sprinkled in throughout that was fun. I do have to say the writing really did pick up the latter half of season 1 and carries into season 2 as I am watching season 2 now and finding it harder to walk away from episodes. Definitely glad I am watching this.

Also I am watching Heroes

I think we are on episode 8 and by doing the re-watch it is reminding me how long this show takes to build up to the main point of "save the cheerleader, save the world" plus I am watching it with Ma who doesn't have the nerd background that I do and is already bored LOL. She doesn't like certain characters and is finding parts of the story-line hard to follow which is then making it hard for me to not get annoyed b/c it is a re-watch for me. So far my favorite episode has been Episode 7 "Nothing to Hide"
Matt works with the FBI to identify Sylar. They interrogate Ted Sprague, who can emit radiation. Parkman, by telepathy, accidentally finds out that his wife is cheating on him. Micah Sanders is revealed to have the power of technopathy which means he can fix anything technology related.
I liked this episode b/c Matt is growing finally into his own. Nikki stops being so whinny and is accepting help from her other half which still hasn't been explained. It shows us that Micah is super smart and why and that he knows Nikki is different. We learn that there are numerous other Heroes but thank God they all don't have to have a freaking story-line on this show like it felt like we were going to get there for a minute. And Claire's brother does something good by her and Claire shows so human emotions like fear.

Other than that fall TV has not started yet so nothing new to report on that end of things.

MOVIES
I really need to do a movie recap podcast to catch you guys up on what I have watched and my spoiler alert thoughts.... meanwhile I haven't really watched a movie but tomorrow is Ma's bday and she wants to celebrate by going to the movies. So yeah!

Oh I might trick ya and since I got this done on time put a podcast with in a podcast now what suckers... wait can I do that? hummmmmm

MUSIC
I am going to go with...
All the Lines by Fleuire I could not find an official music video on YouTube so I had to go with this one. No copyright intended.

I wanted some upbeat music after that so I went with
Shake the Room by Gamu

This song always makes me want to dance
Plus did you guys know there was a line dance to it? I may have to check that out at some point... mind you not today but at some point... anyway

BOOKS
This week's book is going to be

TITLE: Changes
AUTHOR: Jim Butcher
RELEASE: 2010

But let's be honest this is book 11 if you haven't read up to this book skip this whole section or just ignore this if you have but haven't gotten to this book people come on it was released 5 years ago I mean when do we stop with the warnings about spoilers.... just saying.

SUMMARY:
Long ago, Susan Rodriguez was Harry Dresden's lover—until she was attacked by his enemies, leaving her torn between her own humanity and the bloodlust of the vampiric Red Court. Susan then disappeared to South America, where she could fight both her savage gift and those who cursed her with it.

Now Arianna Ortega, Duchess of the Red Court, has discovered a secret Susan has long kept, and she plans to use it—against Harry. To prevail this time, he may have no choice but to embrace the raging fury of his own untapped dark power. Because Harry's not fighting to save the world...

He's fighting to save his child

THOUGHTS:
Hello I forgot how freaking INTENSE this book was my goodness...
Okay I have to say that while White Knight is by far my  favorite book that I have read up until Cold Days this one is just wow. I have been listening to Book 1 Storm Front and this one side by side (one in the car and one on my phone) and I can tell a massive difference in writing skills from the two 10 fold. The writing here is crisp, on point, exciting, and jammed pack with action from the moment Susan calls to the moment it ends. I have to admit this is the book that I was like HOLY CRAP where can they go with it from here. It is amazing to see how much Harry has changed and learned. Yet at the same time is still the same Harry. Then again the length he will go to save his daughter nearly broke my heart. This book ends on such a cliff hanger that I wanted to rip my hair out begging for  more and it reminded me of when I first read this book in 2010 and how upset I was that I had to wait another WHOLE FREAKING YEAR to see how the cliff hanger ended OMG seriously. Thankfully the library was waiting for me and I could grab the next in the collection. I have to put a warning here. If you have not read the whole series you need to while this book could stand alone and Mr. Butcher has done a good job of it a lot of the story lines tie in from other books. Mr. Butcher is excellent at using lines and characters from all of his previous 11 books to help this one tie into the over all picture and story arc of Harry Dresden.

NOW ON TO THE REVIEW OF THE AUDIO

THE PROBLEMS:
The main problem with audio books is the fact that someone is reading them to me and they don’t move as fast as I would like. So that resulted in many a times where either I drifted off or rolled my eyes like, “come on man speed it up.”
That being said the reader James Marsters does a fantastic job when reading. His voices of the different characters especially the women were disconcerting at times and yet still done with a masterful flare.

THE WINS
Mr. Marsters did a fantastic job with the influx of the voice and when Harry yelled James did and when Harry whispered so did James.
His voices were so good I found times when I actually didn’t realize there were not separate voices in the story. I began to look forward to what Butters, Susan and Harry sounded like. Each character was done in such a way I could distinguish between who was talking without clarification.
The story was interesting in its own right but with Mr. Marsters it was heightened in the right amount at the right times. I found myself tensing when I should and sad when I knew that others were. I almost got to the point when Mr. Marsters mentioned someone tilted their head I found I was doing the same thing.
Very good book read by a very talented man who seemed to understand the character.

ACTOR/ACTRESS
So this week I am going to go with my main squeeze Brett Dalton from Shield (Agents of) why IDK other than I met him a few weeks back and I think it's his time to shine so there you go also he was super uber nice and I just heart him now... and if that makes me bad I don't really care hail ward?! you can follow Mr. Dalton over at Twitter at @IMBrettDalton and over and IMDB here

That's it for me folks this week its been real thanks for joining me for yet another awesome week on my favorites. As always I would love to hear from you on what you thought about this week, as well as, what some of  your favorite things are. My Favorite Things ~ Week 19 Episode 33

Welcome back to My Favorite Things Week 19 Episode 33 it's a little late this week and honestly it's 100 % my fault. I have no excuse other than the short week due to Labor Day and being lazy. I wish I could say that I had gone to either Dragon Con or Fan Expo but alas I didn't. It's probably good I didn't cause I was recovering from bronchitis but still a nerd girl at heart here wishes she had gone to either. No I take that back if I had my wish I would have gone to Fan Expo this year simply to satisfy the Harry Potter nerdom and the Killjoys nerdom in my heart.

Speaking of Nerdoms...
I need someone to play board games with... takers? Before you tell me to go to my local comic book shop I am going to need you to understand 2 problems...
1) I live in Wyandotte County that is like: living in the hood (AKA projects) I live on the outskirts but its still not a neighborhood that has a comic book store within a 30 minute driving distance

A great movie to check out to understand my problem would be Friday...
2) Next I don't know how to breach the whole Hello friends I come in peace and would like to play board games with you. I only know how to play Clue and Monopoly do you still want to play... Cause really I am only wanting to play my Firefly versions of the two games listed above...

Although I do think it would be cool to learn Magic and other board games I am not someone who will sit still long enough to learn the rules. Now if you will teach the the Firefly games I am down. Cause those look like fun. So fellow nerds how does one find fellow nerds when one lives in the hood and also how does one join a nerd league of board gaming players when one has no social skills? Or in my case a lot of social skills but apparently is scared shitless of doing this...

PERSONAL
So I am getting ready to shift by getting rid of things... yeah me the master pack rat. Can you friggin believe that? So I totally did a book give away that was literally a give away just shoot me an email, comment or just tell me which book you want and I will give it to you... I still have some for grabs go here more will be going that way keep an eye out or an ear as I did a quick or long podcast announcing it. I also finally did something with all those photos I just smacked them up on the wall by my bed

I am also trying to figure out "does it bring me joy" a new way to clean out clutter from

Before you ask no I have not read the book. But I did watch a short 5 minute video and watch the buzzfeed link over the whole thing and yep I think I am an expert on the whole thing now. Although I am wishing I had never discovered the freaking link. Cause now I find myself asking others "does it bring you joy?" So I am going to end up buying the damn thing for my kindle b/c it won't bring me joy and I will end up throwing the damn book out when I am finish reading it. Sigh it's the life I live and yes #thestruggleisreal yo

how about you do you struggle with clutter, pack rat tendencies? I mean I can't be the only one? I don't want to get rid of something to turn around and want it or have to buy it again. Or worse realize that I gave away the one thing that someone bought me that they are going to ask me where is that so and so thing I got you? UGH... let's move on before I have a flipping panic attack here in my podcast

Also I am moving did I mention that this is what started this whole panic attack isn't it? So I am trying to clean and that takes WAY too much effort. I also like STUFF does anyone else have this problem or is it me? Oh and I am going to the gym so I have this really big problem of well I am going to loose weight eventually and what if I fit into that again mentality? So do I keep it or get rid of it and buy something new (keep in mind people money does not grow in trees even if you plant a dollar bill and yes I did try that and no I was not 5 when I did).

Also my friends keep trying to convince me to write a story on my life would you buy the book? Would it bring you joy?

TV/MOVIES
So I have received some helpful feedback about this section and it was presented that instead of telling you what I am watching this week that I should tell you my favorite episode that I watched after all isn't this my favorite things... fair point to the person who pointed this out.
So this week I have watch SGU (Stargate Universe)

Season 1 and I managed to watch up to episode 6... of those episodes I would have to say my favorite was Light. I did not like people hooking up. I mean come on man how many women can we make the "hot guy" sleep with. I don't like how they kind of forced that relationship. But I did enjoy the whole lottery idea behind the we are going to crash into a star theory. I also like how they are setting up the show for the how much does the Scottish guy know? Also I like seeing how grateful the people were to win the lottery only to discover that maybe it wasn't the better option? The whole episode was handled very well I have to say.

I also managed to pick out some Fall TV shows to watch and start to plan for my DVR which always puts me in a good mood cause I love me some fall TV!
Upcoming shows I plan to watch are:
coming back and I can't freaking wait to see what they do with dark swan and Camelot yo!

Never watched the movie so this is brand spanking new for me

The season 2 cliff hanger has me like What the What?!?!

come on it looks so stinking cute!

I loved Heroes until season 3 then I gave up I am doing a re-watch and want to see what they do with the reborn...

This has me worried but I will give it a go cause I'm curious like that and the advertisement has been mint

He's fine it's in Miami and so far the shows in Miami have been dead on for me... Dexter and Burn Notice anyone?

I am so not a DC girl but this actually looks cute so I think I am going to give it a whirl and say GIRL POWER
And hello I LOVE LOVE LOVE this show so happy it got renewed not it's not a fall show but I just found out it was renewed so had to add it on!

MUSIC
So this week I am going to go with Breathe by Alexi Murdoch (I put the video with the words b/c I think the words are the most important parts of this song)

And b/c you guys know how much I heart me some fan videos this one was done by RonJonMojo Gaming and since I first heard the song on SGU (episode called Water or Air anyway) here's a fanvideo over SGU

The next song is a little more up beat and I like it called Ex's and Oh's by Elle King cause I heart her

Sadly no one has made a fun fanvideo with this one yet although I totally think someone should with Katniss or even a good Originals or Vampire Diaries would be a fun one... hint hint any who moving on

BOOKS
Man so I cleaned out some shelves due to a move that is coming up and I have to say I tried out a new technique called "does it bring me joy or not" and  well it has helped with this section I will say...

This week's book is going to be

TITLE: The Shadow Reader
AUTHOR:  Sandy Williams
RELEASE DATE: 2011
SUMMARY:
There can only be one allegiance.
It’s her time to choose.

Some humans can see the fae. McKenzie Lewis can track them, reading the shadows they leave behind. But some shadows lead to danger. Others lead to lies.

A Houston college student trying to finish her degree, McKenzie has been working for the fae king for years, tracking vicious rebels who would claim the Realm. Her job isn’t her only secret. For just as long, she’s been in love with Kyol, the king’s sword-master—and relationships between humans and fae are forbidden.

But any hope for a normal life is shattered when she’s captured by Aren, the fierce and uncompromising rebel leader. He teaches her the forbidden fae language and tells her dark truths about the Court, all to persuade her to turn against the king. Time is running out, and as the fight starts to claim human lives, McKenzie has no choice but to decide once and for all whom to trust and where she ultimately stands in the face of a cataclysmic civil war.

THOUGHTS:
Do you ever have those little nice surprises? Well this for certain was one of those I actually found myself reaching a point that I didn't want to put it down to go to bed. It was well written, the characters were 3D and I wanted to know more about this world, the Fae world and what this war was all about. There were some twists and turns and deaths I didn't appreciate. Yet I did appreciate them b/c it kept things real. The villain was average and roll your eyes at times when we found out the "real" villain. There is a love triangle in a sorts and yet it was handled in a rare way where even I the true HATER of all LOVE TRIANGLE enjoyed it. I hate love triangles they are the curse of death to me which then translates into I will never read this author again b/c of this triangle kind of thing. And yet this author managed to surprise me in a few areas the triangle being the main surprise. Let's just say even though it has been on my TBR since 2011 it is one I happy I decided to finally read and I will be buying the others in this series.

THINGS I LIKED
The Characters every single one them was a character I could stand behind and understand (minus the villains.
McKenzie she was a fighter and not a sap. She had moments where she was weak like not willing to die (I can relate) hoping for someone to save her yet not sitting back and doing nothing. She was willing to risk life and limb for her man Koyle and for the King. She was loyal to a fault and yet strong til the end. I really, really enjoyed watching her grow.
Strangely I liked the Love Triangle (I know there is a first for everything turns out). It was a nicely done triangle and I appreciated it and the way it was resolved.
The deaths due to war. Believable and yet need and yet a knife in the heart when they occurred which proves to me that I connected in every way to these characters.

THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE
The bad guys didn't have any depth. The twist on the bad guys didn't really turn out to be all that much of a twist.
It felt at times like there was too much and then suddenly we were done almost a rush but not much of one to worry about.
Gave this one 4 out of 5 stars

ACTOR/ACTRESS
So this week since we haven't had a female in awhile I thought it would be a cool change of pace to have a actress as my favorite so I picked
HANNAH JOHN-KAMEN
she plays Dutch on Killjoys my new favorite show and is AMAZEBALLS at it you can follow her on IMDB here  and on Twitter at hannahjk1
