Playlist Review ~ Iron Paradise Airwaves

This week on my playlist review I head over to Spotify to listen to Dwanye Johnson AKA The Rock's playlist for when he works out. He has called it Iron Paradise Airwaves (named after his gym Iron Paradise) I have recently considered myself a work out person (3 days a week baby!) and I wanted to find a playlist that hyped me up and kept me interested when working out. I thought to myself if Dwanye Johnson can listen and work out to this then so can I by golly...So I gave it a whirl

Songs:
1) We Ready by Archie Eversole
2) Rocky Mountain Way by Godsmack
3) One Life, Last Breath by Boo-Yaa Tribe
4) Erbody but Me by Tech N9ne
5) Lemon - Drake Remix by N.E.R.D
6) Plain Jane by A$AP Ferg
7) They Point by E-40
8) People Elbow by Migos
9) Enter Sandman by Metallica
10) Chun-Li by Nicki Minaj
11) TATI by 6ix9ine
12) Posted by Pac Div
13) Burn by Rick Ross
14) Can't Truss it by Public Enemy
15) All Eyez on Me by 2Pac
16) O Lord by Bossie Badazz
17) Move Bitch by Disturbing The Peace
18) I Like It by Cardi B
19) Backstreet Freestyle by Kendrick Lamar
20) Riot Maker by Tech N9ne
21) Bubblin by Anderson Park
22) Motiv8 by J Cole
23) Sucker For Pain by Little Wayne
24) Six Bad Brothers by Boo-Yaa Tribe
25) Migos Original by Migos
26) Where You From by Trick Daddy
27) Undead by Hollywood Undead
28) Straight Out The Gate by Tech N9ne
29) Only by Jelly Roll
30) Feel the Love by KIDS SEE GHOSTS
31) Gripped Up by Casanova

Total Time: 2hrs and 8 mins

Favorite Song: I'm not going to lie I love me some Tech N9ne so I am a huge fan of Erbody by Me and then I heart me some Nicki Minaj so her Chun-Li song on here is fantastic combo for me.

New Song/New Artist to Me: I had never heard of Hollywood Undead and KIDS SEE GHOSTS so hearing them was a new experience for me. I had to go look up some of their other songs on Spotify so that I could get a good idea of who they were and if it was something I enjoyed or was it the workout that made me enjoy it.

Final Thoughts: Holy GOD does this man work out the whole time this is playing? Or does he shuffle it so that he hears some but not all. Although based solely on how he looks I would guess he works out for the whole 2 hours (I mean the man brings his gym on set with him sooooo) Needless to say why it is an interesting playlist and does motivate me (for boxing) I have never heard the entire playlist due to the fact that I can barely workout to song 10 and that's just because I heart me some Nikki Minaj. If you need a good motivational workout playlist this is good and I enjoyed it. I would probably in the future pick some of the songs I felt I really got hyped with and move them to my own playlist.

Spotify Wrap for 2019

Spotify did a wrap up of all the music and podcast that the person who has subscribed has listened too in 2019. While I mainly use Spotify for music I did happen to actually find some podcast to listen to while driving to and from meetings.

I have to say one of my all time favorite podcast (clearly as shown above) is True Crime Garage. I am a huge true crime junkie and this podcast not only is interesting it lays out the crimes, the victims, and wraps up the telling of such crime in a way I don't feel guilty for listening to it. At the same time I learn so much about the criminals that commit the crime that I can't help but wait each week for the next episode.
Science vs is an amazing podcast too as it take a question (like cars and what is myth and what is not) and then finds experts to dig in deeper into the sections. I enjoy learning a lot from this show.
NPR news now was a surprise for me as I tend to only listen in on their Ted Talks cause I am a sucker for a good Ted Talk.
David Tennant one I listened to for the guest and I was curious.
Stuff you Missed in History Class was really something that I wanted to hear as I fancy myself a history buff.
I was surprised to not see Lore, Let's Talk about Myths Baby!, and others then I realized I tend to listen to podcast on Apple Itunes 0_o so that made more sense. Anyway my favorite podcast on Spotify was clearly...

What about you what podcast do you listen to? Which ones should I check out?

Spotify Wrap for 2019

As we get closer to the end of the year more and more social media's are doing the end of year review or wrap for the year. Spotify is no different and it was really cool to see my music trends for 2019...

One of the many cool features was what genre of music I listened to the most. It was interesting to see how my taste changed over the year. Clearly pop is my main choice but the others surprised me. First off I didn't even know that pop rap was a category... then kpop, Latin, and finally viral pop (What is this even?)

The next really cool feature what how much time I have spent on spotify since being a member (I joined in 2012 but it clear when I got my unlimited data plan). I mean 13,574 is a lot of minutes... compared to 2015 which had less than 33

The other really cool feature is how many artist I discovered being on Spotify 757 but apparently I really, really like BTS and spent 27 hours with them this year o_0 So much so they are the artist of the decade for me! As well as my #1 artist of 2019

So another cool feature was how they broke down what I was listening too from season to season this year. Starting with Winter and cycling through.

Clearly Summer is when I fell for BTS
Spotify also did a around the world view of what artist from all over I have been interested in. Including 5 Seconds of Summer from Australia, BTS from South Korea, Shawn Mendes from Canada, and Ed Sheeran from UK. I have listened to music from over 50 different countries and this is one of the many reason I enjoy Spotify getting exposed to all these artist is truly cool.

It also broke down the artist for the year and the songs as well.
Songs: 1. Truth Hurts Lizzo, 2. Mic Drop BTS, 3. Senorita Shawn Mendes, 4. Boy With Luv BTS, 5. Goodbyes Post Malone, 6. Good As Hell Lizzo, 7. It's You by Ali Gatie, 8. Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi, 9. boyfriend by Ariana Grande 10. paradise by Bazzi

Needless to say it was really cool to see the final results. If you haven't had a moment to check this feature on Spotify out I would highly recommend it.

Review of Spotify’s Playlist

So quick admission I am ARMY well sort of I'm a new Army which has in itself been a weird discovery. Especially for my age. That being said I really enjoy BTS and their music, especially their message behind their music. So it was no surprise when I found out that they were doing a US tour I had to go (I went to the Chicago one on both night I have a friend who got free tickets for the second night) Needless to say that sealed the deal for me. Since then I have been listening to their music non-stop and then Spotify helped me to discover that each member has released their own playlist and I thought huh why not find out if we like the same music.

So I started with the oldest Jin (also happens to be my bias although at my age I have to say I like them all but no in the way most people have a bias) Anyway I digress... I have no idea what I was envisioning when I thought of a playlist that Jin would listen to. I think in my mind it was going to be a lot of slow songs and honestly it was going to be more Korean songs and I know that was a stereotype but for some reason I didn't think that Jin and I would have a lot in common music wise mainly because he is a lot more goofy then I am, he tells dad jokes, and he rarely speaks English (even though I am confident that he understands more then he let's on) he also is way more confident then I am and well he appears more traditional then the others so I just went with he would like slower old man music (yeah feel free to judge me now). Anyway I pulled up his playlist and image my surprise when not only did I know every song but I have every song on a playlist of my own *SHOCKED* yes yes I am.... huh

You can find this playlist here on Spotify

1. Rockstar by Post Malone (this one really blew my mind)
2. Perfect Duet by Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé (okay not so shocked by this one)
3. Cross Me by Ed Sheeran and Chance the Rapper (I have no idea why this one shocks me but dang boy I love this song so yeah color me shocked)
4. Without Me by Halsey (now I know they did the whole Boy With luv thing but I didn't think he listened to her other music)
5. Me! by Taylor Swift and Brendon Urie (IDK I'm torn on Taylor it feels like he would like her music)
6. You need to Calm Down by Taylor Swift (again Taylor doesn't surprise me and he doesn't like haters and tends to do what he wants so this does fit his personality from what he shows media wise)
7. bad guy by Billie Ellish (I was surprised by this one not sure why but this one didn't seem like it fit him...)
8. If I can't Have You by Shawn Mendes (seems like it would fit him I put Shawn in a Taylor Swift kind of category bubble gum pop if you would)
9. Shallow by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper (this one doesn't surprise me especially with the guitar parts and the slow music)
10. Talk by Khalid (I LOVE THIS SONG seriously love it so I also love that he or just anyone from BTS also loves Khalid as well!!!)
11. Sicko Mode by Travis Scott (again this one threw my world off I mean I love it but not a lot of people do. Especially people who love some of the other songs on this list)
12. Boy With Luv (now this doesn't surprise me what I wonder is if the other band members will have a BTS song on their list as well. I honestly thought he would have Fire as he always talks about that song)

So needless to say this was a real eye opener for me. It makes me wonder do they really listen to this playlist or do they just add these songs for us the fans? Also do they really like this music and do they talk about it the way we do? I just never hear them talk about music and they never suggest music (Well RM and Suga do but usually it is music they produced or helped produced or are on) so I just wonder how accurate this playlist is.

I am thinking of looking over the other members as well as this one took me by surprise. What are your thoughts on the playlist? Do you follow them?
