Facebook Meme ~ Day 3

So recently there was a meme on Facebook where the person picks 7 books no explanation no reason just pick a book and spread the love. Instead I thought I would put the 7 books here over the week and explain why I picked them

Day 3

Summary:
Harry Potter's life is miserable. His parents are dead and he's stuck with his heartless relatives, who force him to live in a tiny closet under the stairs. But his fortune changes when he receives a letter that tells him the truth about himself: he's a wizard. A mysterious visitor rescues him from his relatives and takes him to his new home, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

After a lifetime of bottling up his magical powers, Harry finally feels like a normal kid. But even within the Wizarding community, he is special. He is the boy who lived: the only person to have ever survived a killing curse inflicted by the evil Lord Voldemort, who launched a brutal takeover of the Wizarding world, only to vanish after failing to kill Harry.

Though Harry's first year at Hogwarts is the best of his life, not everything is perfect. There is a dangerous secret object hidden within the castle walls, and Harry believes it's his responsibility to prevent it from falling into evil hands. But doing so will bring him into contact with forces more terrifying than he ever could have imagined.

Full of sympathetic characters, wildly imaginative situations, and countless exciting details, the first installment in the series assembles an unforgettable magical world and sets the stage for many high-stakes adventures to come.

Reason:
I was blown away by this book especially for it being a young adult novel. This book literally gripped me from the first page and I turned into one of those people at midnight waiting for a book release at a store for the next one. I enjoyed every page. Learning about this school, learning about Harry, his friends, his life, and oh my gosh just the world that JK Rowling invented a world that you can't help but escape into and want to belong to. A world where everything is different so you just can't help but want to learn and get more information. As the kids grow up you want to be there for them. You hurt with them, you love with them and you laugh with them. Also in this world you learn with them and you have your favorites that you fight for and about with anyone else who is a Potterhead. This book started a community around the world and no matter where I go if someone mentions something related to the book you know that you are going to be friends no matter what the age and this is something that is rare in the book world.
