30 Day Kdrama Challenge ~ Day 3

When I was on Madame Writer's blog for photo above I saw that she did a Kdrama challenge that she found on Tumblr which I linked below. I thought wow I should do this as I am getting more and more into Kdramas (to be fair I have only watched a finished a handful) So I am debating if I should do it all in one post or make it a 30 day challenge...

30 Day Kdrama Challenge

Today is:
Day 03: Your Favorite Female Lead Character

Once again I am going to go with the show What's Wrong with Secretary Kim. And yes I get it you would think this was my favorite Kdrama but alas it wasn't. I just happen to really appreciate this main female lead which is saying something because I do not for the most part like female leads or otherwise in Kdramas. They fit too many stereotypes that I just can't get with. Usually they are whinny, needy and if they are independent they are extremely spoiled and almost down right mean. Park Min-young who plays the female lead of Kim Mi-so is opposite of that. She gets angry but hides it due to not wanting to lose her job but that doesn't stop her from complaining to friends and family. She works hard and she does it to prove others wrong. She immediately went from school to job instead of going to college. She sacrificed her life to pay off her family's debt. She grew up without a mother and from the time that she could she would take care of others. She also in this story suffers from a tragedy of being kidnapped and not fully understanding what happened or who was with her. She struggles but smiles through it all and doesn't allow anyone to see her weakness until she is ready and fully trust them. This character was fully flushed out and was a woman that I felt that I could actually connect with and was rooting for through the whole show. I think there was only one time I rolled my eyes and I am confident it wasn't even due to something that she said or did which is pretty remarkable.
