30 day Kdrama Challenge ~ Day 1

When I was on Madame Writer's blog for photo above I saw that she did a Kdrama challenge that she found on Tumblr which I linked below. I thought wow I should do this as I am getting more and more into Kdramas (to be fair I have only watched a finished a handful) So I am debating if I should do it all in one post or make it a 30 day challenge...

30 Day Kdrama Challenge

Day 01: Your Favorite Kdrama

Right now I will have to say Wise Prison Life AKA Prison Playbook on Netflix. This drama is what sealed Kdrama's fate and standard in my book. It aired in Korea in 2017 but was discovered by yours truly in 2018. I think on Netflix I watched it at least 3 times and then gave up and bought the DVD set from Amazon because I enjoyed it that much and was scared Netflix would stop showing it. 

It stars Park Hae-soo who plays Kim Je-hyuk - he is a superstar baseball player (left handed pitcher) that is so good he is being recruited by the US. In one fatal night though he turns into a convict and is sent to prison to figure out how to survive. The whole court time he is told that he would be let go and then comes to the realization that he will spend a year in prison and how will that affect his career, his personal life, his family and what will change about himself. 

Jung kyung-ho plays his best friend Lee Joon-ho and is also an elite prison guard. It is one of the moments when these two meet that I felt a huge weight being lifted from my shoulders for Kim Je-hyuk who had been struggling up to that point and so lonely. There are a lot of other storylines happening during this show that include those left behind (AKA his family) and those he meets in prison. I have to say hands down I recommend this drama to everyone.
